• Dating is extremely problematic; most recent review by Whiteside & Marshall (2008) supports a Rhaetian age based on faunal comparisons to the Tytherington fissure, which is dated as Rhaetian primarily on the basis of palynomorphs

Environment/lithology: karst; lithified limestone and green mudstone

• red or green mudstones interbedded with thin limestones largely composed of recemented detrital crinoid debris
