Loc. 4.1, Listice Sect., Beroun, Listice sect. 566, Motol (Silurian of Czech Republic)

Where: Czech Republic (50.0° N, 12.9° E: paleocoordinates 53.6° S, 57.3° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Motol Formation, Sheinwoodian (428.2 - 426.2 Ma)

• "The limestones have yielded the index graptolites of the C. murchisoni Biozone...Overlying beds [contain] limestones of the C. perneri/C.ramosus Biozone." Thus, section spans much of Sheinwoodian.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; limestone and volcaniclastic shale

• "[Section starts with] endostratic breccia composed of brachiopod limestone. The breccia lies on an eroded surface of the siliceous shales. Its matrix is brown-green tuffite. The limestone fragments and blocks are oriented and were most likely transported from north to south. There are basically two kinds of limestone in the breccia. One contains [brachiopods and conularids]. The other [trilobites]. Higher up, the tuffite contains large fragments of tuffitic shales with [rare brachiopod] and M. belophorus..."
