When: Gerakarou Formation (Premygdonian Group), Villanyian to Villanyian (3.2 - 0.0 Ma)

• Late Villanyian, MNQ18, Late Villafranchian, Plio-Pleistocene. In the Upper levels of the Gerakarou formation.

Environment/lithology: fluvial-lacustrine; red, silty, sandy limestone

• Red beds - sand, silt, freshwater limestones.

Size class: macrofossils

Collection methods: Site excavated by Koufos and collaborators. Material held in the Department of Geology and Physical Geography, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
