• From Isaacson (ref. 9681): "The Lower Shale Member commences with a fine-grained sandstone..gray to brown...Next is the "Icla Pavement" [sandstone; symmetrical ripples; fossiliferous]...next is a gray to brown fine-gr sandstone that is medium bedded, [brown]. The remainder of the Lower Shale is mostly covered...mudstone...gray to black, [micaceous]..."
