Where: Cataluna, Spain (42.2° N, 0.9° E: paleocoordinates 32.1° N, 2.9° E)

When: Unit 1 Member (Tremp Formation), Late/Upper Campanian (83.5 - 70.6 Ma)

• G. aegyptiacus zone; c. 10 m above the contact of the Tremp Formation with the Aren Sandstone

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; gypsiferous, gray marl

• "a grey marl rich in gypsum crystals...The gypsiferous bed intercalates with coal-bearing grey marls, limestones and shell beds (mainly consisting of remains of the snail Melanoides and the clam Cyrena)."
