ammonites
Zymoetz (Copper) River, Ashman Formation, level C5 (Jurassic to of Canada)

Where: British Columbia, Canada (54.6° N, 128.5° W: paleocoordinates 42.0° N, 72.7° W)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Smithers Formation (Hazelton Group), Bathonian to Bathonian (167.7 - 161.2 Ma)

• late Bathonian-early Callovian, layer is approx. 41 m above base of the section

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; shelly/skeletal siltstone and tuffaceous sandstone

• fossiliferous marine sedimentary rocks that overlie (presumably with disconformity) maroon tuffs that likely belong to the Red Tuff Member of the Nilkitkwa Formation. An 8 cm thick, pale blue, tuffaceous, clay-rich layer containing rare marine fossils was identified as a reworked volcanic ash. Strat colum shows sediments to be sandstones, siltstones and tuffaceous sandstones

Size class: macrofossils
