When: Pija Member (Senja Formation), Changhsingian (254.0 - 252.3 Ma)

• Correlation is difficult, but stratigraphic position and correlation of underlying Nangung Formation suggests a Changhsingian age. 5 m thick. Krotovia arcuata Subzone.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, fine-grained, yellow, calcareous sandstone

• platy, fine, gold-weathering calcareous sandstone.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: cast, original calcite

Collection methods: Some collections were of individual specimens, others as large as possible under the circumstances, with a few localities represented by rock weighing more than 50 kg. Most collections were made from just over 50 measured sections, and are under good stratigraphic control.
