Builjasutuin-Khuduk (SMPE) (Cretaceous to of Mongolia)

Also known as Soviet-Mongolian Paleontological Expedition, Buylyasutuin-Khuduk

Where: Ovorhangai, Mongolia (45.4° N, 101.7° E: paleocoordinates 47.0° N, 102.6° E)

When: Neocomian to Neocomian (145.5 - 112.0 Ma)

• layers 2 and 5, not separated in paper

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lacustrine; concretionary, calcareous claystone and concretionary, brown, gray, green, blue, calcareous claystone

• 3 m thick layer of dark clay with large flattened lime concretions. Within is a lens of lighter grayish-brown clay with green and blue spots and small lime concretions. In the lens is also an inclusion of blue, pale purple-spotted aleurite.
