• In the south-german basin (Süddeutsches Becken) located at the northern margin of the Thetys. About 50 km away from shore
• In this part of the Jurensismergel (jurensemarl) the quite fast and constant sedimentation is characterized by mostly strong Bositra-accumulations. The high content of lime results in so called Tutenmergel layers and lenses. Lime and pyrite nodules are less common in this part.
