When: 4 Member (Khuff Formation), Wordian (268.0 - 265.0 Ma)

• Composite section built on five sections. Khuff is part of an unconformable second mega-sequence, which consists of the fluvial terrigenous Gharif Fm., overlain by marine marls and bioclastic limestones of the Khuff Fm. Top unconformably truncated by continental sandstones and siltstones of the Triassic to Jurassic Minjur Formation.

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified, silty marl

• This member is interpreted as lower shoreface.
• coarse, cross-bedded bioclastic limestones interbedded with silty and quartzose marls; return of clastic input and occurrence of Zoophycos-type traces
