Also known as N78/f530; GS9747

Where: New Zealand (38.2° S, 177.2° E: paleocoordinates 80.9° S, 179.2° E)

• coordinate based on unpublished field data

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Aptian (125.5 - 112.0 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From unnamed lithostratigraphic unit, which unconformably overlies the Torlesse Supergroup. AGE: Korangan-Urutawan, on the basis of macrofossil biostratigraphy. Here placed in Korangan = Aptian based on its stratigraphic position. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From 20-50 m above base of formation.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified, fine-grained, medium sandstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Shallow marine, inner shelf paleoenvironment.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Fine-medium sand. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, based on facies description.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: cast, mold/impression

Collected by Gair et al in 1966; reposited in the IGNS

Collection methods: surface (in situ),

• COLLECTOR: H.S. Gair, M.R. Johnston, I.G. Speden, 1966. REPOSITORY: GSNZ (now GNS Science, Lower Hutt, New Zealand).
