Also known as N78/f565; GS10797

Where: New Zealand (38.2° S, 177.1° E: paleocoordinates 74.9° S, 170.2° E)

• coordinate based on unpublished field data

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Urutawan (108.4 - 103.3 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From unnamed lithostratigraphic unit, which unconformably overlies the Torlesse Supergroup. AGE: Korangan-Urutawan, on the basis of macrofossil biostratigraphy. Here placed in Urutawan = Albian based on its stratigraphic position. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From 300 m above base of formation.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified, coarse-grained, silty sandstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Shallow marine, inner shelf paleoenvironment.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Silty coarse sand. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, based on facies description (FRED).

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: cast, mold/impression

Collected by Speden in 1970; reposited in the IGNS

Collection methods: surface (in situ),

• COLLECTOR: I. G. Speden, 1970. REPOSITORY: GSNZ (now GNS Science, Lower Hutt, New Zealand).
