Where: Israel (32.0° N, 34.9° E: paleocoordinates 15.9° S, 35.7° E)

When: Arqov Formation, Wuchiapingian to Wuchiapingian (259.0 - 252.3 Ma)

• Ostracodes were found in samples of the Arqov Formation between 5500 and 5905m, with the richest samples in the intervals 5620-5702m and 5850-5859m, respectively. Most specimens were found in the lower and middle parts of the Arqov Formation, whereas ostracodes are relatively rare in the upper part of this formation.

Environment/lithology: lagoonal or restricted shallow subtidal; lithified sandstone and lithified limestone
