Type specimen: CPC 33883, a valve (Internal mould of conjoined shell and external mould of dorsal valve, ventral interarea, and umbo). Its type locality is BMR PB15, Fossil Hill, Eregulla Springs Station, which is in an Artinskian coastal sandstone/siltstone in the Mingenew Formation of Australia.
