Type specimen: IVPP V 9607, a partial skeleton (associated elements of the forelimb and shoulder girdle with some flight feathers). Its type locality is Otog Sumu (bed 5), which is in a Cretaceous fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Jingchuan Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
