Type specimens:
- Haptodus baylei: a specimen in the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle Paris. Its type locality is Les Télots, which is in an Autunian terrestrial horizon in France.
- Datheosaurus macrourus: MB. R. 1015.1-2 (part and counterpart), a skeleton. Its type locality is Nowa Ruda, which is in a Kuzel fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Ludwikowice Formation of Poland.
- Palaeohatteria longicaudata: Its type locality is Niederhäslich, which is in a Sakmarian lacustrine limestone in the Niederhäslich-Schweinsdorf Formation of Germany.
- Pantelosaurus saxonicus: Its type locality is Königin-Carola-Schacht, which is in an Asselian fine channel fill shale in the Döhlen Formation of Germany.
