Belongs to Licnocephala according to R. J. Ross 1951

Sister taxa: Licnocephala cavigladius, Licnocephala ovata

Type specimen: YPM 18180, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Locality 6, Hillyard's Canyon, Zone "G(2)a", which is in a Tulean shallow subtidal horizon in the Garden City Formation of Idaho.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
