Type specimen: UALVP 29789, a mandible (incomplete right dentary with six teeth and the broken bases/vacant alveoli for 16 others). Its type locality is Verdigris Coulee (UA-MR-6), which is in an Aquilan terrestrial sandstone/shale in the Upper Milk River Formation of Canada.
