Type specimen: MGNS, no number, a partial skull (skull lacking the auditory bones, teeth and mandibles). Its type locality is Cisterna, which is in a Tortonian marine lime mudstone in the Pietra Leccese Formation of Italy.
Ecology: aquatic piscivore-carnivore
