Sister taxon: Glyptops plicatulus

Type specimen: AMNH 1018, a partial shell (front and the dorsal region of the carapace and the greater part of the plastron). Its type locality is 10 miles east of Pryor, which is in a Cenomanian marine shale in the Graneros Shale Formation of Montana.
