Type specimens:
- Megaloolithus baghensis: VPL/KH 551, an egg. Its type locality is Bagh Caves dinosaur egg site, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian terrestrial limestone in the Lameta Formation of India.
- Megaloolithus balasinorensis: FEB-331. Its type locality is Balasinor Quarry, Kheda, which is in a Maastrichtian peritidal limestone in the Lameta Formation of India.
