Triadobatrachus massinoti

Taxonomy

Protobatrachus massinoti was named by Piveteau (1804). Its type specimen is MNHN no MAE 126, a skeleton (mostly complete mold of a skeleton lacking some distal limb elements), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Betsieka, which is in an Induan/Smithian paralic shale in the Middle Sakamena Formation of Madagascar.

It was recombined as Triadobatrachus massinoti by Kuhn (1962) and Rage and Roček (1989).

Synonyms

Protobatrachus triassicus was named by Kuhn (1938).

It was synonymized objectively with Triadobatrachus massinoti by Rage and Roček (1989).
