Crocodyloidea
Taxonomy
Crocodyloidea was named by Deraniyagala (1939) [almost certainly first used by Deraniyagala; could be attributed to Owen 1842 based on principle of coordination; also falsely attributed to Cuvier 1807 and Fitzinger 1826]. It is extant.
It was reranked as the unranked clade Crocodyloidea by Salisbury and Willis (1996), Salisbury et al. (2006), Brochu (2007) and Brochu et al. (2009).
It was assigned to Brevirostres by Salisbury et al. (2006); to Crocodylia by Salisbury and Willis (1996), Brochu (2007) and Brochu et al. (2009); and to Eusuchia by Martin et al. (2010).
