It was assigned to Teiini by Estes (1983); to Teiidae by Estes (1969), Estes and Berberian (1970), Carroll (1988), Bryant (1989), Gao and Fox (1991) and Nydam et al. (2000); to Adamisauridae by Alifanov (2000); to Polyglyphanodontini by Nydam et al. (2007); and to Chamopsiidae by Longrich et al. (2013).
