Huayangosaurus
Taxonomy
Huayangosaurus was named by Dong et al. (1982). Its type is Huayangosaurus taibaii. It is the type genus of Huayangosauridae.
It was assigned to Stegosauridae by Carroll (1988); to Huayangosaurinae by Dong et al. (1982), Zhou (1983), Zhou (1986), Dong (1990) and Dong (1992); to Huayangosauridae by Galton (1990), Galton (1990), Carpenter et al. (2001), Blows (2001), Galton and Upchurch (2004) and Maidment et al. (2008); and to Stegosauria by Sereno (1986), Sereno (1997), Sereno (1998), Sereno (1999), Maidment et al. (2006) and Mateus et al. (2009).
