Cumnoria was named by Seeley (1888). It is not extant.
It was synonymized subjectively with Iguanodon by Lydekker (1888); it was synonymized subjectively with Camptosaurus by Woodward and Sherborn (1890), Huene (1909), Gilmore (1909), von Zittel (1911), Romer (1956), Kuhn (1964), Romer (1966), Norman (2004) and Pereda Suberbiola et al. (2006).
It was assigned to Ornithopoda by Sauvage (1914); to Iguanodontidae by Swinton (1970) and Galton (1974); to Camptosauridae by Naish and Martill (2007), Ruiz-Omeņaca et al. (2007) and Ruiz-Omeņaca et al. (2008); and to Styracosterna by McDonald et al. (2010).
