Mauicetus brevicollis
Taxonomy
Mauicetus brevicollis was named by Marples (1956) [University of Otago, Department of Zoology]. Its type specimen is G.48.8, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Duntroon, 5 km west, which is in a Chattian marine limestone in the Otekaike Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
It was considered an invalid subgroup of Mysticeti by Fordyce and Roberts (2009).
