• JA: said by the authors to be late Oligocene, but unquestionably no younger than late Eocene based on presence of brontothere

Environment/lithology: fluvial-lacustrine; red sandstone and siltstone

• "fossils occur in the upper coarse-grained sandstone and gravel beds of the formation."
