• New species come from the Upper or Middle Members of the Whitemud Formation, Cypress Hills area, Late Maastrichtian.

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; sandstone

• Continental depositon; freshwater, subtropical to warm temperate climate; fluviatile deposits; meandering stream - point bar dominated in Lower Member of Whitemud Formation and floodplain dominated in the Upper and Middle Members; extensive marshes toward the end of the period, giving way to lacustrine conditions before the depositon of the Battle Formation.
• White Sandstone; The Upper Member of the Whitemud Formation is an 8 m thick kaolinitic clay with subordinate white kaolinitic sand; it overlies a thin coal seam or alternating caol seams and clayey layers and underlies the Battle Formation.
