When: Vaqueros Sandstone Member (San Lorenzo Formation), Chattian to Chattian (28.4 - 20.4 Ma)

• Above basalt flows with in Vaqueros Sandstone. Vaqueros Sandstone is up to 920 m thick conformably overlies the Rice Mudstone and overlain by the Lambert Shale. Zemorrian (Oligocene) and Saucesian (early Miocene) age.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; fine-grained, medium, gray sandstone

• Contains a series of pillow basalt flows.
• Primarily thick-bedded to massive, moderately sorted, slightly granular medium-grained to well-sorted fine-grained, arkosic sandstone. The sandstone is light gray to medium gray when fresh and yellowish gray when weathered.
