When: Episkopi Formation (Barmari Group), Wuchiapingian (259.0 - 254.0 Ma)

• Upper part of the Episkopi Formation (Wuchiapingian) - formation in total ranges from Capitanian to early Changhsingian. Neogondolella leveni (early Wuchiapingian) occurs below the fossil beds and Neogondolella orientalis + Hindeodus julfensis (late Wuchiapingian to early Changhsingian) occurs just above.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified packstone and lithified wackestone

• 55 m of stratified fine grained bioclastic lime packstone with sponge spicules, crinoids, calcareous algae, and foraminifers, characterized by flat to round shaped cherts. Overlain by 10 m of grey nodular lime wackestone and then by 30 m of well bedded lime wackestone-packstone with marly interbeds.
