When: Lower Member (Centinela Formation), Lutetian (48.6 - 40.4 Ma)

• From succesion of siltstones, tuff and fine-grained sandstones in the lower part of the Centinela Formation, immediately overlying a prominent ash bed, dated at 46 Ma. Collection from approximately 40-150 m in the stratigraphic column of Casadio et al. (2000).

Environment/lithology: coastal; poorly lithified, tuffaceous siltstone and fine-grained, tuffaceous sandstone

• The entire section comprises coastal marine and fluvial facies prograding over subtidal deposits. The lower part represents subtidal environments.
