When: Gnathodus texanus conodont zone, Fort Payne Chert Formation, Chadian to Chadian (345.3 - 342.8 Ma)

• JA: originally entered as late Osagean; falls entirely within the Gnathodus texanus zone (Ausich and Meyer 1990), which in turn is Chadian to Arundian (Work and Mason 2004)

Environment/lithology: marine; shelly/skeletal packstone

• crinoids collected from one of four facies within the fort payne; at this locality, the facies is sheetlike packestone
