It was assigned to Pleurodira by Lydekker (1889); to Pleurodira by Andrews (1906); to Pleurodira by Zangerl (1948), Miller (1967), Wood (1976), Thurmond and Jones (1981) and Carroll (1988); to Pelomedusoides by Joyce et al. (2004); and to Pelomedusera by Gaffney et al. (2006).
