It was reranked as the suborder Lipotyphla by Gregory (1910).
It was assigned to Insectivora by Gregory (1910); to Eutheria by Hooker (1986); to Mammalia by Tabuce et al. (2005); to Insectivora by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004) and Scott (2006); to Placentalia by Wible et al. (2007); and to Laurasiatheria by Asher and Helgen (2010).
