Indricotherium was named by Borissiak (1916). It is not extant.
It was assigned to Hyracodontidae by Radinsky (1966), Carroll (1988) and Ye et al. (2003); and to Indricotheriidae by Dashzeveg (1996) and Qiu et al. (2004).
