Taxonomy

Parictops multicuspis was named by Granger (1910) [genotype]. It is the type species of Parictops.

It was recombined as Palaeictops multicuspis by Van Valen (1967) and Novacek (1977).

Synonyms

Palaeictops matthewi was named by Novacek (1977). Its type locality is Exposure Near Top of Buzzard Pass, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the DeBeque Formation of Colorado.

It was synonymized subjectively with Palaeictops multicuspis by Bown and Schankler (1982).
