It was reranked as the unranked clade Archosauromorpha by Gauthier et al. (1989), Laurin (1991) and Long and Murry (1995).
It was assigned to Sauria by Gauthier et al. (1989); to Neodiapsida by Benton (1985), Laurin (1991) and Long and Murry (1995); to Diapsida by Carroll (1988) and Peng et al. (2001); to Reptilia by Meyer and Zardoya (2003); and to Diapsida by Renesto (2005), Dilkes and Sues (2009) and leteMe (2009).
