Habitat comments: "Six sites were censused in the vicinity of the Park Headquarters at Sirena... pen grass pasture at the west end of the headquarters building; mangrove-al-cornoque (Mora megistosperma) forest on the east bank of the estuary of the Rio Sirena 200 m inland from the ocean at Boca Sirena; selectively degraded flatland forest 100 m west of the Sirena airstrip along the trail to the estuary of the Rio Sirena (-3-m elevation); edge of flatland virgin forest at the east end of the proposed airstrip east of Casa Marenco near the Rio Pavo (5-m elevation); Rio Cameronal creekbed in lightly degraded foothill forest where the Park Headquarters' water supply originates (-20-m elevation); and lightly disturbed ridgetop forest ~300 m northeast of the Rio Cameronal (-80-m elevation)... m. All of the original vegetation was evergreen rain forest,"

Sites: 6

Sampling methods: line transect,baited,other traps

Sample size: 170 individuals

Years: 1977

Seasons: wet or monsoon

Nets or traps: 5

Sampling comments: "Cineole, eugenol, methyl cinnamate, benzyl acetate, and methyl salicylate were selected as the baits... 16-cm2 squares of heavy blotter paper were soaked in a compound and each square placed individually in a small plastic bag that was then knotted shut. At the census site, each of the five bags was pinned to a different tree trunk in shade - 1.5 m above the ground. The five trees were chosen so as to be about eight to 15 paces apart and arranged in a roughly straight line or shallow arc"
