assigned to the Plesiadapis cookei zone of the Clarkforkian, meaning the Clarkforkian part of the lower Willwood Formation, which is entirely in chron 24r (see for example Gingerich 2001)
the meter level is said to be 1280 m by Gunnell and Gingerich (1991) and appears to be 1260 m in Fig. 3 of Krause (1986)
the age assignments are the base of chron 24r according to Ogg (2020) and the Palaeocene-Eocene boundary according to the ICS 2003 time scale

Environment
Lithology: mudstone
Habitat comments: "Gray mudstone at the base of this locality contains a pocket that, through quarrying and screen-washing, has yielded the richest Clarkforkian collection from a single site in the Clark's Fork Basin" but several "larger specimens" have "been excavated from drab mudstones slightly above the level of the quarry"
Methods
Life forms: carnivores, primates, rodents, ungulates, other large mammals, other small mammals
Sampling methods: quarry,screenwash
Sample size: 472 specimens
Years: 1977
Museum: UMMP
Sampling comments: "discovered in 1977 by B. Holly Smith"
"we found surface concentrations of small vertebrates, screenwashing was performed" and was "highly successful" and the site was quarried "extensively": "About 30 sacks (approximately one ton) of matrix have been washed"
Secord (2008) reports a much larger sample from this site with different counts and more species that I have integrated into Rose's version
"Phenacodus, Coryphodon, and Dipsalidictis (Oxyaena) aequidens appeared in a faunal list for Holly’s Microsite published by Krause (1986) but are excluded here because they appear to have been surface collected from the surrounding area (SC-188), based on museum records"
the omitted Phenacodus primaevus of Rose is the same as Phenacodus intermedius of Thewissen (2008)
one specimen of Dissacus sp. is also omitted by Secord (2008), and I am unable to match this identification to his list
see also Krause (1986)
