Sampling comments: sampling overall was between March 1986 and February 1988, with these data pertaining to March 1987 through February 1988, and "The population density of orthopterans was estimated by the removal-trapping method (Kaushal & Vats 1984), Cages, each with an area of 1 m2, were constructed with an entrance of 80 cm X 40 cm on one side 10 cm above ground level. Wire gauze (5 meshes cm-1) was fixed on all sides except on the ground surface... Five cages were used at each sampling date. Sampling was done every 15 days, except in winter, when it was done monthly'
