Lithology: sandstone

Habitat comments: there is no exact description of the lithology, but the outcrop is indicated as a sandstone in Fig. 1

Sampling comments: the site was discovered in 1964 by J. Dufour during a geological map survey, collected by L. Ginsburg in 1967, described in a preliminary publication by Ginsburg et al. (1967), and collected again in 1977 by D. E. Russell
most of the specimens are from one site that is 50 m across, but some are from a second about 150 m away
this sample represents the first locality: the second only yielded one specimen each of Ailuravinae indet. and Paschatherium russelli
numerous turtles were described by de Broin (1977)
"Plusieurs tonnes de sédiment" was screenwashed
most of the material is in the MNHN in Paris, but some is at the University of Göttingen and the Collection Braillon
