Geography
Country: United States

State: Wyoming

County: Park

Coordinate: 44.29° N, -109.25° W
Coordinate basis: stated in text

Formation: Wiggins

Time interval: Early Eocene

Zone: Bridgerian

Ma: 47.9

Age basis: K-Ar

Geography comments: shown in Fig. 18 as within the Blue Point marker just under the base of the Wiggins Formation near the north end of Carter Mountain
"in sec. 21, T. 50 N., R. 103 W." (see Fig. 17)
the Blue Point marker is not assigned to a formation because it underlies both the Wiggins and the Tepee Trail and overlies both the Wapiti and the Aycross (Fig. 5)
thought to be equivalent to Bridger B or C
there is a "K:Ar date of 47.9 my ± 0.5 my" on the Blue Point marker (p. 190), which is just younger than the top of the Early Eocene

Environment
Lithology: conglomerate

Habitat comments: the Blue Point marker is "a distinctive conglomerate-ash-conglomerate sequence"
