some fossils "were collected from the surface, but most were recovered through washing of matrix... About 1.3 tonnes of matrix were processed" (presumed to be metric tons)
"cartilaginous and bony fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds (Tokaryk and James, 1989)" are also present (Tokaryk and James described one bird species; it is not clear what is meant by amphibians and reptiles)
