Habitat comments: "The forest reaches its best development at Njoro where many of the trees exceed 50 m. in stature... The indigenous people, the Wataveta, occupy a reserved area... Most of the population lives in grass huts either within the forest or in very close association with it. The most important crop is bananas, which, along with colocasias, are grown in forest clearings, particularly in the vicinity of Njoro. There is a small amount of cultivation in the reserve outside the forested area" (so the forested area in the reserve is pristine) and sampling was within "banana plantation"
