Geography comments: "at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center... above the Caņada de la Brea Fault (CDLBF) at the north end of the landfill"
coordinate estimated based on the map in Fig. 1
in the second bed of the local sequence and the third interval of the Simi Valley overall section
according to Kelly et al. (2012), within a normal polarity interval thought to be chron C19n based on the fact that the Lapoint Ash in the Uinta Basin has been dated at 40.26 Ma and is in a reversed zone; that the Simi Valley Landfill fauna is in a reversed zone and correlates biostratigraphically with that zone; and that the Strathern interval is lower in the same section (C19n boundaries based on Ogg 2020)

Environment
Lithology: claystone

Habitat comments: "from reddish claystone beds"

Methods
Life forms: rodents,other small mammals

Sampling methods: screenwash

Museum: LACM

Sampling comments: the fossiliferous beds were exposed "Prior to the 2010 grading and earlier landfill expansions"
"bulk matrix samples" were collected and "Wet screening... followed by heavy liquid separation of the fossils" was carried out
